Dan J. Baker

July 13, 1934 - October 22, 2024

Celebration of Life Service for Dan J. Baker, 90 of Enid, will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, October 26, 2024, in the Anderson-Burris Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Sam Justice officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in the Aline Star Cemetery under the direction of Anderson-Burris Funeral Home and Crematory.

Dan J. Baker was born on July 13, 1934, in Shattuck, OK to Daniel and Mildred “Wahl” Baker, and went to be with Jesus his Savior, peacefully, on October 22, 2024, at his home in Enid.

Dan had many God given talents and he used then all to help family, neighbors, friends and his church. He was good at many jobs, and retired from Waldon Manufacturing Inc., after 43 years of dedicated service. He was a master carpenter and planned, designed and built his own house. He had his pilot’s license and loved to fly his Cessna XP122 Hawk. He loved riding motorcycles, fishing, hunting, boating, camping, working with his hands, carpentry, traveling and anything outdoors.

Dan served his country in the United States Army Battery A 2nd howitzer Battalion 15th. Artillery Division and then four years in the National Guard. He was discharged with the rank of SP3 with awards in marksmanship and good conduct.

He taught Sunday School and was a member of Cleo Springs Christian Church where he was an elder and assisted in building the current church.

He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, son, brother and uncle. He loved his family, his friends and his church family dearly.

Dan is survived by his wife Dot, daughters Retta Donovan and husband Pat, and Reyna Keltch, and a son Dean Bond and his wife Kendra, grandchildren Ramona Carroll, Gary and Stephanie Griffith, Milo and Vanessa Griffith, Devin Bond and Ashton, Dillon Bond, Abbey Bond and Tyler, Tawna Widney and Tamry Widney, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister and brother Lloyd and Betty Robinson and sons Delton and Gary Griffith.

Memorials in Dan’s honor, may be made through the funeral home to the Cleo Christian Church.
