The services Celebrating and honoring the life Dale Ross Eagan, 68 of Enid will be held 1:00 P.M. Wednesday January 6th, 2016 in the Brown-Cummings Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplin Don Burris officiating. A private family Graveside service will be held in the Fort Gibson National Cemetery. Complete cremation care and services are under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.
Dale was born July 3, 1947 in Muskogee to Sam and Mable Hargrove Eagan and passed from this life December 30, 2015 in Enid surrounded by his family. He graduated from West Central Muskogee High School in 1965. He attended the University of Oklahoma. He enlisted in the United States Air Force which included a stent in Viet Nam. He was honorably discharged on February 23, 1973 after being stationed at Tinker Air Force base in Oklahoma City. On November 13, 1971 he married Sally Holcome. They had two children, David Eagan and Sarah “Eagan” Helterbrand. He lived and worked in Oklahoma City for a number year before moving to Enid in 1987. There Dale worked as an assistant Plant Manager for Union Texas Petroleum, Advance-Peirre, before retiring from Steco in 2010. He always enjoyed working with his hands and had a natural ability to fix anything. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and enjoyed working in his shop.
Dale is survived by his son, David Eagan and Melanie Hulva and his children, Garett and Grace Eagan; daughter, Sarah Helterbrand and husband Justin, and their two children, Calli and Paige Helterbrand; Companion, Darla Carter of the home; two brothers, Gary and wife Joyce Eagan, and Sammy Eagan. As well as two nieces Jenny Hackler, and Julie Gilmore.
He was preceded in death by his parents Sam and Mable Eagan. Memorials may be made to Ross Hospice with Brown-Cummings Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds. Condolences may be made to the family on line at WWW.Brown-Cummings.com
