Community Leaders Invited to Enid Hope Summit Oct. 7

ENID, OK - The first-ever Hope Summit is coming to Garfield County on October 7 and community leaders won’t want to miss it. The free, day-long event will focus on the science of hope and how it can be used to strengthen organizational outcomes across every sector. Online registration is available at https://enidhopesummit.eventbrite.com.

Brought to Enid by the Hope Rising Oklahoma co-founders, First Lady Sarah Stitt and renowned scholar Dr. Chan Hellman, the Hope Summit will include appearances by Governor Kevin Stitt and well-known Oklahoma business leader Mart Green of Hobby Lobby. Driven by findings that hope is a leading predictor of success in education, work, health, mental health, social relationships, family and trauma recovery, Hope Rising Oklahoma provides evidence-based practices to help communities measure and build hope levels in every sector.

“We know that hope is much more than a feeling or a wish. It can be measured and increased using proven methods. It can transform the way we serve our communities and significantly strengthen our outcomes—whether through education, social services, criminal justice or other areas,” said Oklahoma First Lady Sarah Stitt. “That’s why we’re so excited to bring Dr. Hellman’s science of hope to community leaders across Oklahoma, starting here in Garfield County.”

Attendees of The Enid Hope Summit will:

• Learn how hope affects outcomes in employee retention, student success, community health and organizational impact;
• Receive teachable, evidence-based practices for measuring and growing hope in their organizations from Dr. Chan Hellman of the OU-Tulsa Hope Research Center;
• Hear from Oklahoma First Lady Sarah Stitt about Enid's exciting role in making Oklahoma the first hope-centered state in the nation;
• Hear the results of Enid's recent Community Hope Assessment;
• Network and collaborate with other Enid community leaders; and
• Become involved in the statewide Hope Rising Oklahoma movement.

According to Local Coordinator Dan Schiedel, who also serves as CEO/Executive Director of United Way of Northwest Oklahoma, the Hope Summit will be invaluable for leaders and teams from all sectors. “If you’re a leader—whether in education, business, healthcare, a nonprofit, a 1 faith community—I encourage you to be at the Hope Summit October 7,” said Schiedel. “And bring your team or your board, because the practices we’ll be learning can take your leadership and your efforts to a completely different level.”

The Enid Hope Summit will be held at Stride Bank Center and is open to all members of the community. Details and registration are available at https://enidhopesummit.eventbrite.com.
