While in Stillwater she met her lifelong love and partner, Dan Harris. Colleen and Dan were married at the Cherokee Methodist Church in 1959. She was a member of the Junior Welfare League, the Cherokee chapter of the Eastern Star, PEO Chapter Q, Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority, and her Home Extension Group. Colleen's focus and drive was for her family. She dedicated her talents and life to raising her three children: Allison, Greg, and Kyle. She preferred to stay out of the spotlight, but her light shined brightest when she was with Dan and her children. She gave everything of herself to them and reveled in their accomplishments. They were able to reward her efforts by giving her six grandchildren to enjoy. She was always thrilled to pull out her "Brag Books" and show off her treasures.
