A Celebration of Life for Claudia Jean Crabtree, age 76, of Enid, will be 2:00 pm, Saturday, January 14, 2023 at the New Hopedale Mennonite Church with Reverend James Suderman officiating. Burial will follow in the New Hopedale Mennonite Cemetery under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home & Crematory. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 pm on Friday, January 13th at the funeral home.
Claudia was born August 3, 1946 to Claude and Vivian (Smith) Jantz in Enid, Oklahoma and passed away Sunday, January 8, 2023 in Enid. She attended school at Freehome and Oklahoma Bible Academy. On February 4, 1964 she married David M. Crabtree. They made their home in Enid where they raised five children; Marland, Jeff, Darren, Mark and Susan. When the children were older, she managed several businesses and eventually retired from Pioneer Telephone. She enjoyed vacationing with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren at the lake and the various places her children lived. Her favorite event was planning and attending the annual Crabtree “Big Toe” reunion at Lake Tenkiller with the entire family. It was a special place for Dave and Claudia as it was where they vacationed with their children every summer and eventually purchased a retirement home there. She enjoyed baking Christmas goodies to mail to all her grandchildren. Spending time with her many grandchildren was her passion.
Claudia is survived by her husband, David, of the home; five children, Marland and wife Yvonne, of Oklahoma City; Jeff and wife Pat, of Katy, TX; Darren Crabtree of Enid; and Mark and wife Ricki Crabtree, of Enid; son-in-law Montana Lyons, of Yukon, OK; sixteen beloved grandchildren; Andrew Aguirre, Austin Tyler Crabtree and Lexi LeCates; Austin Blake Crabtree, Alexandra Schulz and Madison Crabtree; Hayden Crabtree, Aubryauna Bennett, Darien Vasquez and Elizabeth Hunt; Brittan and Skylar Crabtree; Malachi, Hannah, Makayla, and Isaac Lyons. She also leaves eight cherished great-grandchildren, Mason Crabtree, Clayton Crabtree-Lopez, Adelynn Crabtree, Everly Crabtree, Benjamin Crabtree, Xayden Bennett, Wynona Vasquez, and Valkyrie LeCates, as well as two brothers, Tom Jantz and wife Janie, of Montgomery, TX, and Chris Jantz and wife Mary of Enid. She is preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Vivian Jantz, and a daughter, Susan Renee Lyons.
Memorial contributions in Claudia’s name may be made to the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation to the Cancer or Alzheimer’s Research Divisions with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
