A Celebration of Life for Chris Baade, 63 years, of Edmond, formerly of Enid, will be 3:00 pm, Thursday, March 2, 2023 at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home with Pastor Kenneth Wade officiating. Visitation will be from 1:30-2:45 pm prior to the service. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
Christopher Carroll Baade was born in Enid, OK on December 12, 1959 and passed from this life on February 25, 2023 after a long battle with cancer. Chris attended school in the North Enid School district and graduated from Chisholm High in 1979 while also earning his welding certificate at Autry Tech. Chris was a lifetime Boy Scout and earned his Eagle Scout in 1975. He was troop leader for his son who earned his Eagle also. Chris raised show pigs and sheep through 4-H and FFA and continued the tradition helping his children do the same.
Chris worked in the oilfield for many years before moving to the waste management industry, retiring in early 2019.
Chris enjoyed using his homemade smoker to feed his family, friends, and people at catering events. He went fishing every chance he got and was able to go to Canada in 2020 on a fishing trip. He enjoyed working in his vegetable garden.
Chris is survived by his son Curtis Baade and wife Ashley, daughter Carianna Fox and husband Tim, brother John Parks and wife Cathy, brother Rick Baade and wife Jo, and sister Elaine Lambert and husband Jeff. Six grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and many close friends.
Chris was preceded in death by his parents Dale and Barbara Baade, his paternal grandparents Walter and Lois Baade and his maternal grandparents Carroll and Violet Zaloudek.
Memorial contributions in Chris’s name may be made to the Stevenson Cancer Center or the Scouts BSA with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
