Don't be left out this year, make your reservations now. The Christmas Light Tours are another event offered and presented by the Chisholm Trail Coalition.
The Chisholm Trail Coalition is a nonprofit organization made up of men and women from the Enid area who want to preserve the history of Enid, the Chisholm Trail and the land run of 1893 into the Cherokee Outlet. For years they have presented tours of downtown Enid with re-enactment characters and also Tombstone Tales in Enid’s oldest cemetery.
In 2018, the CTC welcomed their newest character, Chisholm Trail Trolley affectionately called “Trolley BOB”, after their benefactor of history, Mr. Bob Klemme. The trolley is available for tours, parties, weddings, proms, and shuttles, along with many other events.
I was on the first Christmas Light Tour and had a great time. They had an excellent route picked out and took us in to some of the best Christmas light displays in the Enid area. The tour guide kept us entertained, informed and pointed out some of the unique displays as we passed by. The tour was well worth the money for the ticket and the ride in the old trolley was quite an good experience.
I thought that the trolley was owned by the city, but found out that it is result of a group of men and women who formed the Chisholm Trail Coalition which is a non-profit organization and rents the trolley out for tours, events, weddings, party’s and other needs. Great job and hats off to this group.
