A Celebration of Life for Christine Ann Clifton, age 68, of Enid, will be 10:00 am, Wednesday, December 15, 2021 at the Christian Church of the Covenant with Pastor Paul Ragle officiating. Burial will follow in Green Lawn Cemetery in Pratt, Kansas at 3:00 pm. The family will receive friends at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home on Sunday, December 12, 2021 from 2-4 pm. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
Christine was born January 19, 1953 in Pratt, Kansas, to James and Jodean (Rush) Sims, and passed away Thursday, December 9, 2021 at her home in Enid surrounded by her family. She attended Enid Schools and graduated in 1971. She attended Phillips University in 1971 and graduated in 1975 with a degree in Education. She met Michael Clifton while attending college and later were married on August 2, 1975. Christine followed her husband’s Army career to Germany and enjoyed the 3 years until they moved back to the states in 1986. She began her teaching career in Newkirk, OK in 1986. They moved back to Enid, where she taught at Taft Elementary and retired after 25 years in 2011. She had a love for children and always looked forward to seeing her former students. She was a member of Christian Church of the Covenant. Her family was the most important part of her life.
She is preceded in death by her parents, James and Jodean Sims.
She is survived by her husband, Michael Clifton, of the home in Enid; two sons, Jeremy Clifton and wife Kim, of Enid; James Clifton of Enid; five grandchildren, Ethan and Lillian Clifton; Jarron Peters and wife Amanda, of Enid; Cody Peters and wife Sandra, of Tennessee; Hannah Henning, of Colorado; sister, Toni Avants and husband Stony, of Garber; three nephews, Jimmy Rogers, Jordan Avants, and Jesse Avants; as well as many friends.
Memorial contributions in Christine’s name may be made to Christian Church of the Covenant Endowment Fund with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
