ENID, OK - Chisholm Trail Coalition donated $4,000 to Enid Public Schools to support high school seniors and teachers.
The funding will be divided into three ways: $2,000 scholarship to an Enid High School senior wishing to pursue a history or education degree in college; $1,000 scholarship to a teacher furthering their education in a history area; and two $500 donations to teachers implementing a project in the classroom that is history-based.
“It is always very exciting when an organization contacts the district about wanting to help teachers and students,” said Jane Johnson, Director of Human Resources and Communications for EPS. “The donation from the Chisholm Trail Coalition will assist a student in their goal to be a history teacher and will help teachers to further their education and projects in the classroom. EPS is so appreciative of the financial donation and we can’t wait to share how the funds have impacted our students and teachers!”
Applications will be available in December 2022. Seniors are encouraged to visit their guidance counselor about applying for the scholarship. EPS teachers may reach out to their site principal to apply for funds for their higher education degree or classroom project funds.
The Chisholm Trail Coalition is a nonprofit organization whose main focus is sharing the history of Enid with the community.
