Chick-fil-A will open their doors on Thursday, December 12th at 6am and tonight they held a Premiere night with a corporate team from Georgia. Many family, friends and employees were invited to see the brand new stand alone restaurant located on W. Garriott in front of Oakwood Mall.
Eager patrons were treated to gifts, music and samples of everything on the menu. The Georgia team gave tours of the kitchen and explained how Chick-fil-A operates. The tour started at the award winning drive-thru. Award winning because they have won multiple awards on drive-thru speed and quality. Enid's Chick-fil-A has a double ordering drive-thru which merges into a single window.
The tour continued into the very spacious kitchen which was staffed with busy workers preparing food for the guests. The first station was for making the fresh biscuits that they hand make everyday. The next station in line was the lemonade area that contained a box of Sunkist lemons. The lemonade is fresh squeezed everyday right in the store.
The next area was for salads. We were informed that all salad ingredients are shipped to the store, then prepared in the kitchen, meaning that all salads are fresh and made to order. You can order yours without carrots or custom make it to your preference.
Shakes are made with old fashioned real ice cream and ingredients like the Oreos are actually Oreos! Everything used from condiments to toppings are all popular name brands like the Heinz ketchup.
We toured the fryers and watched as each chicken breast is breaded right there. Everything deep fried is timed to the second and pulled out as soon as it is ready which keeps the chicken from soaking in the oil reducing calories. Chick-fil-A uses quality ingredients and prides itself on having a very clean kitchen and employees that care about cleanliness.
During the Premiere night it was pointed out that Enid does not have a Chick-fil-A, Enid has "Connie's Chick-fil-A". Just about anyone that has eaten at Chick-fil-A personally knows Connie Sturgeon-Hart and she most likely knows them by name. The corporate staff was impressed with the Enid store and had never seen a store so closely tied to its owner.
