Chautauqua to Offer Monthly Book Discussions

ENID, OK — Enid Chautauqua, in partnership with other Oklahoma Chautauqua organizations, is hosting monthly, virtual book reviews and discussions beginning January 12 th at 7:00 p.m. The book reviews and discussions will be held over Zoom, and feature Chautauqua scholars reviewing books that relate to their 2022 Summer Chautauqua topics and historical figures. The topic for 2022 Summer Chautauqua is “Surviving the Sixties: Sex, Drugs, and Rock ‘n’ Roll.” The virtual book reviews and discussions will be held monthly on the second Wednesday of the month at 7:00 p.m.

On January 12 th at 7:00 p.m., Karen Vuranch, who will be portraying Cass Elliot, will be reviewing the book California Dreamin’: The LA Pop Music Scene of the 60s, by Andrew Hickey. On February 9 th at 7:00 p.m., John Dennis Anderson, who will be portraying Christopher Isherwood, will be reviewing A Single Man, by Christopher Isherwood. On March 9 th at 7:00 p.m., Joey Madia, who will be portraying Allen Ginsburg, will be reviewing Howl, by Allen Ginsburg. On April 13 th at 7:00 p.m., Ted Kachel, who will be portraying Timothy Leary, will be reviewing High Priest, by Timothy Leary. And, on May 11 th at 7:00 p.m., Randy Noojin, who will be portraying John Lennon, will be reviewing The Love You Make: An Insider’s Story of the Beatles, by Peter Brown and Steven Gaines.
