Scott was born on October 15, 1982 in Ponca City, the son of David Taylor and Connie Moriarty and passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones, on July 20, 2016 at his residence after a year long illness. Scott was a proud member of the Osage and Kaw Tribes. He grew up on the family home in Osage County, attending McCord School, East Jr. High and Ponca City High School. Scott acquired many life long friends along the way. Shortly after high school, he married Kelly Jones. From this union, they were blessed with four curly-haired cuties, Kylie, Caleb, Kailyn and Colby. On December 4, 2010, he married Lyndsey Cobble and was blessed with three handsome boys, Liam, Elye and Bentley. Scott’s children were fondly referred to as the “Taylor Tots” by many. Scott enjoyed the outdoors. A campsite with family and friends was his favorite place to be. You could always find him “Out in the back yard.” At age 11, he began working at the annual moto-cross races in Ponca City. Through hard work, dedication and appearing old enough to work there (he was supposed to be 16), he spent over 15 summers dedicated to getting the track ready and working the races. He would often travel with the moto cross to the next town/race making many friends along the way. Scott worked at various restaurants in the Ponca City area over the years, but his favorite was the years spent at Head Country Restaurant. There, he mastered the art of BBQ and was happiest in front of a grill. The kitchen was his domain and he loved nothing more than cooking for and feeding friends and family. Scott became known as “The Chef” and we will certainly miss his delicious meals. Scott leaves behind a large group of loved ones who will miss him very much. Survivors include his father, David Taylor of Bristow, Oklahoma; mother, Connie Moriarty-Davis and husband Rick; sister, Debbie Rateliff and husband Andy and brother, Matt Moriarty, all of Ponca City.
