The visitation celebrating and honoring the life of Charles Coleman, 74, of Enid, will be held 2:00 P.M – 4:00 P.M. Saturday March 26, 2022, in the Brown-Cummings Funeral Home. Complete cremation care and services are under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.
Charles L. Coleman was born May 19, 1947, to Eunice (Wiley) Coleman and Sidney Coleman in Holdenville, Oklahoma and passed from this life March 17, 2022, in Enid, Oklahoma.
He was raised by his mom Eunice and C.J. (Clifford) Rogers, whom he called his dad. He attended schools in Wetumka, Fairview Country School in Yeager, and Holdenville, Oklahoma.
He met and married Linda Stanley in February of 1969 and they made their home in Enid. He worked for Banta Construction. He then owned and operated his own truck hauling heavy equipment, grain, and feed for many years until retirement. He also had many horses and raised cattle, which both were a great joy to him. He was a member of the Enid Cherokee Strip Riding Club and rode horses in many parades, play days, and team penning. He also hosted many play days at his home arena.
He is survived by his wife Linda Coleman, of the home, a daughter Kelly and partner Neva, of Enid, a son Scott and wife Heather, of Oklahoma City; four grandsons, Stetson Ronistal, of Enid, Alex, Ben, and Andrew Coleman, of Oklahoma City; brothers, David Rogers and wife Lisa, Tommy Rogers, of Holdenville, Marvin Rogers and wife Debbie, and Gene Rogers, all of Elk City, Jimmy Rogers and wife Donna, of Enid; sister-in-law Diane Rogers; sisters, Nita Roberts, Carol Arnn, all of Elk City.
He was preceded in death by his mother Eunice and father Clifford Rogers; an infant daughter Rebecca; sister Karen, brothers, Robert and Bud, and sister-in-law Jeanie Rogers.
