Main Street Enid had a celebration bash last night. Not only were they celebrating everything they’ve accomplished in the last 20 years, but they were celebrating more great things to come. Kelly Tompkins, program manager, presented a few awards to Wymer Brownlee, Park Avenue Thrift, Downtown Kitchen Store, Five80 Coffeehouse and a few others.
Main Street Enid, Inc. is a 501c3 non-profit whose mission is to revitalize our downtown through the application of a four point approach. The four points are: promotion, organization, design and economic restructuring.
During the evenings celebration, guests enjoyed food, music by the Stars Band and conversation in the historic Hiland Tower lobby. Those that joined in were treated to a buffet catered by Mandy's Catering and a three tiered cake created by Angel Delights. Park Avenue Thrift Enid was the sponsored the food and also made matching contributions to each winning silent auction item.
New Main Street board members were treated to the most dramatic initiation ever! They were inducted at a rose ceremony where one member did not receive a rose and had to give up their board membership. Fortunately it was only Ty Tompkins, let go because of his marital status to the Main Street manager.
All in all it was a great evening and a perfect occasion to network. If you missed this event be sure to mark your calendar for next years bash We look forward to more exciting things coming to downtown Enid!
