Carole Arnold: A Life Remembered
Carole S Shelp, born on April 24, 1938, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, peacefully passed away at home on April 12, 2024 after a long battle with Pulmonary Fibrosis, she was surrounded by her daughter and family in Roanoke, Tx. She wore many hats in life: daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, friend & talk show host.
In 1955 Carole was named Demolay Sweetheart in Enid, Oklahoma.
In June 1956, Carole married Wade Arnold of Enid, Oklahoma and their love story spanned an impressive 64 years until Wade’s passing in 2020. They were more than spouses; they were best friends who shared adventures, especially during Wade’s baseball career.
Carole had a passion for sewing and a love for music. Her voice would fill the room as she sang, and her hands made beautiful creations. But her kindness extended beyond hobbies. Carole was the type of person who lent a helping hand whenever she could.
For 20 years, Carole worked at Clear Channel, leaving an indelible mark. She hosted The Morning Magazine on KTOK 1000 during the 1990s, captivating listeners with her warmth and knowledge. The radio world loved her, and she reciprocated that affection, considering her colleagues as family.
Her heart swelled when spending time with her twin grandkids, Collin and Brooke Wilson. Their laughter echoed through her days, filling them with joy.
Carole is survived by her daughter, Christi Wilson, and her husband, Corey, of Roanoke, TX. Alongside them are her twin grandchildren, Collin and Brooke Wilson. Her family circle extends to her brother, Rick Shelp, and his wife, Gerri, from Killeen, TX, as well as her sister, Debbie Teel, also from Killeen, TX. Extra special niece Missy Larosee & husband Josh who were always there to help take care of her. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins & great friends share in the memories of her vibrant life.
Special memories were always made with her YaYas!
