The graveside services celebrating and honoring the life of Carol Lewis Wright, 90, of Enid, will be held 10:00 A.M. Tuesday February 13, 2024 in the Enid Cemetery officiated by Pastor Bobby Hall. Services are under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.
Carol was born October 16, 1933 to Richard Wright and Bessie Coulson in Webb, Oklahoma and passed from this life February 6, 2024 in Enid, Oklahoma.
He moved to Enid, Oklahoma at a young age with his mother and was raised by his mother and step-father Nile. He was educated in Enid attending Enid Public Schools. After his schooling he began his career working for the City of Enid, Cummins Construction and in the Oilfield. He married Nancy Higgins October 24, 1953, the couple made their home in Enid. For the last thirty years of his career he worked for Enid State School, retiring in 1999. He spent most of his spare time supporting his grandchildren at every sporting event they had. He enjoyed watching John Wayne westerns and listening to Eddie Arnold, above all he absolutely loved spending time with his family.
He is survived by four children Debbie Underwood, of Enid, Karen Hensley, of Enid, Tim Wright and wife Amber, of Enid, and Narda Hoover and husband Bob, of Hunter, Oklahoma; ten grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife Nancy Wright, one son Ronald Wright, and one great granddaughter, Kirsi Underwood.
Memorials may be made in his honor to the St. Jude’s Childrens Research Hospital with Brown-Cummings serving as custodian of the funds.
