Every movie needs a few big name actors and Canyon Trail is no different. Although the three main characters in the movie series are local actors there are a few celebrities that are appearing in this film and have appeared in prior films.

Buck Taylor

Son of noted character Dub Taylor has been starring in films for over 50 years. In 1967, Buck began a long run as Newley on the famous series “Gunsmoke”. Since then, Buck has apeared in hundreds of movies and television shows, included playing Turkey Creek Johnson in the celebrated film, “Tombstone”. Today, while continuing his acting career, Buck is highly regarded as a western artist.

Buck played Marshall Trevor Cooper in Skeleton Creek’s last movie, “Cactus Creek and will once again bring that character to life in Skeleton Creek’s upcoming film, “Canyon Trail”.

Bryanna Holt Widener

Grew up in an acting family, the “Fabulous Holts” as they were sometimes called. Her Uncle Jack made countless films, both western and non-western as did her Aunt Jennifer Holt, starring with some of the biggest names in films.

Her father, Tim Holt, starred in many films over a 30 year period, including two of the most noted films ever made, “Stagecoach with John Wayne and “Treasure of the Sierra Madre” with Humphrey Bogart. In the 40’s and 50’s Tim Holt starred in many “oaters” including his own series in the 1960’s.

“Canyon Trail” will be Bryana’s second film for Skeleton Creek when she portrays Juliana Henderson in “Canyon Trail”.

R.W. Hampton

Hampton was born to be a cowboy and for many years that’s how he made his living, working as a cowboy on some of the biggest ranches in the west.

Today he is one of the most noted western singers in the history of that genre. His awards are many. In the AWA, Male Vocalist of the Year in 1999, 2002, and 2006. In 2009 he was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award from the American Cowboy Culture Awards. In 2011, .he was elected to the WMA’s Hall of Fame. Other WMA awards include Male Vocalist of the Year in 2000, 2007 and 2011, as well as Song of the Year in 2008 and Album of the Year.

R.W. will be making his third appearance in a Skeleton Creek film as he reprises his role as Logan in “Cactus Creek” in the upcoming film “Canyon Trail”.
