January 9, 1957 - July 14, 2022
Lawrence Lynn "Butch" Luetkemeyer, was born January 9, 1957, in Enid, Oklahoma to his parents, Alice and Lawrence "Baldy" Luetkemeyer. In Butch’s formative years, he was influenced and impacted by Larry Buckley. He was previously married to Beverly Jane Rogers and from that union, they had a daughter, Virginia "Ginger" Ann.
On July 4, 1992, Butch married the love of his life and eternal companion Peggy Sue Wells, and with that union, Peggy adopted Butch's son Markus Duane. Butch was blessed with the families of Peggy’s daughter, Margaret Ann, and Son, Thomas L. Layne Jr.
Butch was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, where he was active in the youth program and spent many years with his son and grandsons at the boy’s camp.
Having helped during many harvest seasons, Butch discovered he could repair virtually anything mechanical. In high school, he went to work for Larry’s Amusement and Vending. When the first electronic (Pong) game came out, Butch quickly learned to troubleshoot computer components and taught himself how to program.
From part-time high school through the video game craze, Butch became part owner in Larry’s Amusement and eventually bought out the other partners. He operated Larry’s Amusement until selling the company in 2010.
Talented enough to fix and repair just about everything, Butch was most known for his servant’s heart. Whether he knew you well or not, he was always willing to lend a hand, a set of tools, or even an ear. Of the many titles Butch was called by (husband, father, brother, grumpa), he was best known as friend.
Surrounded by his family Butch passed from this world on July 14, 2022. He was proceeded in death by his parents, one sister, Trish, and his mentor Larry.
