Jermaine Wade is the founder of Zoom Diagnostic Imaging. He and his partners opened the independent medical imaging center in September 2017 with a CT (computed tomography) scanner, then added MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) and digital X-Ray last October. The company’s fourth imaging modality (Ultrasound) was added several months ago, giving Zoom all four of the major imaging tools. Zoom’s imaging is read by DIA (Diagnostic Imaging Associates), one of the top radiologist groups in Oklahoma; their physicians read for both hospitals in Enid, and many other centers around the state.

Wade graduated from Enid High School in 1995, went to Northwestern Oklahoma State University in Alva on a basketball scholarship and earned a degree in business management in 1999. Wade spent his early career in Dallas, where he worked in business development and sales for healthcare imaging companies for over 12 years. He knew early on that his entrepreneurial spirit would drive him to strike out on his own. But it wasn’t until 2015 that his Enid roots played an important role in making this dream a reality.

Wade spent many hours developing a business plan to open his own diagnostic imaging center. “I wanted to bring something to my hometown that’s very affordable, and allows people to get the studies they need,” Wade said. “I wanted to offer something that’s financially beneficial for patients, and hopefully beneficial for their health care.”

Enter Kim Poslick (Loftis), Wade’s high school counselor who played a major role convincing him to focus on his education and setting his career path in motion. In the Fall of 2015, Wade reconnected with Kim and shared both his successes in Dallas, and also his dream of launching a business in Enid. She immediately knew he had to meet her husband Mike from Blackwell, who had a business partner from Dallas who was quite familiar with the medical imaging business (his wife being a successful radiologist in Texas). After meeting Jermaine, Mike knew his business plan was strong and then the couple quickly set the ball in motion with Mike's Dallas partner and Wade had his investors!

Kim played a vital role in helping design the interior of the Zoom office and treatment rooms. “Patients are consistently impressed with how nice our office feels when entering the center. Kim also convinced us to buy some beautiful photography from a local artist her in northern Oklahoma – I’m proud of what we’ve built together,” said Wade.

Wade said he determined the need for Zoom after listening to stories of patients in Enid and surrounding communities who couldn’t afford imaging services, either because they are uninsured or because they have high deductibles on their insurance plans. “The deductibles just start over each year, and for most people that’s $3,000 to $5,000, and for some people it’s as much as $10,000,” Wade said. Some people aren’t able to pay the insurance rate for an expensive diagnostic test like a CT or MRI scan if they haven’t yet met their deductible, or if they don’t have insurance, and that leads them to decline recommended diagnostic tests which could mean ailments go untreated.
