Xpress Wellness Urgent Care Announces Seventh Location – Sapulpa, OK
Sapulpa, OK -- Xpress Wellness announced plans to build a world-class urgent care medical center in Sapulpa, Oklahoma. The new urgent care medical center will be located at 949 East Taft and expects to begin seeing patients in May 2015. Sapulpa is the seventh location for Xpress Wellness.
Xpress Wellness is an urgent care and occupational medicine provider that treats non-life threatening illnesses and injuries on a walk-in basis (no appointment needed). Xpress Wellness is open 7 days a week with extended evening hours and weekend services. In addition to high quality medical care, Xpress Wellness focuses on convenient services and reducing wait times. Services include “get in line” with online check-in option that allows patients to wait at home or where they are most comfortable. Online check-in feature is accessible through the company’s website www.XpressWellnessUrgentCare.com.
The urgent care center will consist of six private exam rooms, triage room and a procedure room. The center will have computerized radiology services, lab services, diagnostic testing and EKG onsite. Comprehensive medical care services for adults and children will be provided including care for common illnesses, sprains, strains, lacerations, flu, allergies, infections, sports physicals, etc. Medical services for employers and employees include pre-employment physicals, DOT physicals, pulmonary function tests, drug testing, and treatment for work-related injuries. Insurance and other forms of payment will be accepted.
Xpress Wellness is a privately-held company based in Enid, Oklahoma. The company is led by Dr. Scott Williams, Chief Medical Officer, and Brian Hayden, President. Xpress Wellness has six other locations in Oklahoma (Enid, Elk City, Weatherford, Shawnee, Muskogee and Woodward).

TRUCKING OPERATION NOT CONSOLIDATING TO ENID (Posted December 17, 2014)
Select Energy, a transportation company, will not be consolidating its operations in Enid. The 25 acres of industrial park land they purchased will be sold back to the Garfield County Industrial Authority.

JET FUEL PLANT OFF THE TABLE (Posted December 17, 2014)
Enid Regional Development Alliance plans to discontinue the push for a jet fuel plant that would have run on the conversion of eastern red cedar trees. A feasibility study showed that transporting the trees to Enid would not be cost effective.

OPENING IN 2015 (Posted December 13, 2014)
Coming soon - a new upscale salon for Enid at 109 S. Grand. For those of you who are following the Salon 109 progress, here is an update. They had hoped to be open by now, but the architectural plans and bidding process has taken six months longer than they had hoped. The plans are currently 99% complete and they are out for bid again. Salon 109 hopes to start construction in the next 45 days and be open by spring.

NEW HIRE (Posted December 12, 2014)
Autry Technology Center in Enid has selected its next superintendent. Autry will hire Brady McCullough to succeed the outgoing Superintendent Jim Strate on July 1st of 2015. McCullough is still the superintendent at Green Country Technology Center in Okmulgee. In his career, McCullough has been a vocational agriculture instructor and he’s held administrative positions at Meridian Technology Center and Tulsa Technology Center. Strate decided to retire as Autry’s Superintendent after holding that position for 23 years.

Ritchie Agency, Farmers Insurance will soon be relocating from W. Randolph to their new location on W. Broadway (formerly Nutrition Nook). The building actually once housed the Frantz Insurance Agency back in the day. Expected move in date is late first quarter of 2015.

Over the Fence Farms is a family-owned business that makes specialty pickles, spices and baking mixes. Its product is now in more than 50 stores across Oklahoma, and it is already building a client base for its brand new co-packing branch. The new branch will be called Spotted Cow Packaging.

Koch Nitrogen to Build New Urea Plant and Increase Existing Production. Plans to add more than 1 million tons of production per year at its Enid, Oklahoma facility
Koch Nitrogen Company, LLC is moving forward with plans to build a new urea plant at its Enid, Oklahoma facility. In addition, the company is revamping existing production processes at the facility. Combined, the investments are estimated at $1 billion and are expected to increase fertilizer production at the facility by more than 1 million tons per year. The improvements to existing processes will be implemented in stages from 2014-2016. Construction on the new plant, which will include additional storage and enhanced loading facilities, is expected to begin in the fourth quarter of 2014. The plant is projected to be operational in 2016.

Global Spectrum is celebrating the one year anniversary of Enid Event Center & Convention Hall. They concluded their first full year of events this past weekend, highlighted by the sold out Reba concert on Saturday, June 21st. The event brought in well over 3,500 people, making total first year attendance 43,858. The event also brought the total first year ticket sales to over $1.4 million since the grand opening last June. 37% of all event attendees during the last year at the Enid Events Center have been visitors from outside Garfield county.
