ENID, OK - The story of notorious gangsters Bonnie & Clyde’s connection to NOC Enid will be presented by NOC Criminal Justice instructor Troy Cochran on Monday, Nov. 26 at Montgomery Hall in the Gantz Student Center at 7 p.m.

The program was originally set for Nov. 12 but was postponed due to weather.

The evidence based presentation is the result of a 2017 article detailing Bonnie & Clyde’s connection to Enid in 1933. Cochran’s criminal justice students saw that article and the investigation was underway.

“When we started looking at the article, my detective instincts kicked in,” Cochran joked. “So, I started doing some research on Bonnie & Clyde’s visit to Enid. It wasn’t a reflection of Joe Cummings’ research, I just wanted to know the facts of the case. And sure enough, we have some evidence that Bonnie & Clyde were on the Enid campus.”

The investigation has been a search through FBI City of Enid, and other public records.

“It’s been so much fun,” Cochran said. “It’s time consuming and you chase a lot of leads but that’s the fun. And when you find something it is very rewarding.”

Cochran said the investigation is still ongoing, in fact, he said that another discovery was found two weeks ago.

Cochran said that NOC Criminal Justice students will work the event.

“It’s been great that they can be a part of something that is part of NOC’s campus and part of our history,” he said.

The event is part of a year-long celebration of NOC’s 20 years in Enid.
