Bill passed away on August 9, 2016 at 11:20 a.m. in the Cunningham, Kansas Nursing Home, another victim of dementia, for 18 years of his life of 74 years old.
Bill was the sixth of eight children. He had two brothers that passed away in their early 60s and five sisters. Only four sisters are living. Bill’s favorite hobby was “work”. He worked at Raziens Pipe and Steel for forty years and farmed/ranched for thirty years south of Quinlan, Oklahoma. He would get so attached to his cattle, he would hate to see them sell. Bill and Deloris Lee were married 52 years. They have four wonderful children, Terry Lee, Dennis Dale, Audie Jon and Kimberly Jo.
Bill was raised in Baldwyn, Mississippi. He and three junior college friends headed west and ran into wheat harvesters in Southern, Oklahoma and worked for them to the Canada line and back to Oklahoma. By then, Brock and Opal Edwards asked him to spend the winter. Bill loved Oklahoma. That’s when he met his one and only wife, Deloris. They purchased their first home on Hunter Road. Bill liked the country. In five years, they were surrounded by new homes but with fifteen acres, they couldn’t get too close. A family graveside service will be held in the lovely Prarieview Cemetery, Woodward, under the kind guidance of the Amy Stittsworth Funeral Service. Remembrances may be shared online at www.stittsworthfuneralservices.com.
