Beverly Torr

December 25, 1940 - October 25, 2023

The services celebrating and honoring the life of Beverly Donna Torr, 82, of Enid, formerly of Tulsa, will be held 11:00 A.M. Friday October 27, 2023 in the Ninde Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Connie M. Ichord. Privat burial will follow. Services are under the direction of Brown-Cumming, life celebration home.

Beverly Donna Torr was born December 25, 1940, in Tulsa, OK, with her twin sister, to Arthur Donald and Romayne Margaret (Black) Torr. She passed from this life on October 25, 2023, in Enid, OK where she resided since 2021.

Beverly was a third-generation Tulsan. She graduated from Edison High School in 1959. She attended William Woods College and The University of Tulsa where she was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority and received her Bachelor of Arts degree. She was a long-time member of First United Methodist Church where the magnificent stained-glass West window was donated by her mother and grandmother in honor of her grandfather, Edward F. Black. She was also member of the Junior League of Tulsa, Antique Collectors Guild and Prime Time luncheon group. She enjoyed volunteering for the American Heart Association and the Tulsa Opera. Her artistic talent was evident in her paintings and the beautiful needlepoints that adorned her home. Beverly especially enjoyed her annual 4th of July beach trips to Sullivan’s Island, SC, with her daughters, their families and grandchildren, who loving knew her as Mugga, a tradition she started in 2003 and maintained for 20 years.

She is survived by her daughters Leslie Stebbins and her husband, John of Atlanta, GA, Donna Hovis of Raleigh, NC, Torry Turnbow and her husband, Jason of Enid, OK. Grandchildren Lauren Stebbins, Grant Stebbins, Cassidy Turnbow, Sloan Turnbow, Beth Turnbow; Grand dogs, Colby, Jake, and Macy; her sister, Carolyn McKinney; nephew, Don McKinney and his wife, Melinda; nieces, Carol Roberts and her husband, Dan, and Kathy Anderson and her husband Jim, as well as many grandnieces and grandnephews.

Beverly was preceded in death by her grandparents, Fannie and Edward F. Black and Jessie and Arthur Torr; her parents; her twin sister, Barbara Romayne (Torr) Ford.

In lieu of flowers, friends may contribute in her memory to First United Methodist Church, West Window Lighting Fund with Brown-Cummings Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
