Celebration of Life service for Beverly Kay Dodson, 71 of Edmond, will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 12, 2021 in the Anderson-Burris Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Kenneth Wade officiating. Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Anderson-Burris Funeral Home.
Beverly was born August 4, 1949 in Enid to Roger and Hilda (Miller) Hays, and passed away Thursday, July 8, 2021 in Oklahoma City.
Beverly graduated from Garber High School and later earned her Master’s Degree in Special Education from Central State University in Edmond. Beverly worked for 35 years as a Pre-K Special Education teacher. She loved spending time at the family lake house, enjoyed to water ski, and also look forward to going on huge family vacations every summer. She was a devoted mother and grandmother. Every harvest Beverly helped her son Braydon on the farm from cooking meals to driving trucks, anything he needed she was there to help. Beverly’s other passion in life was for animals. As a young girl she enjoyed riding horses. And if she saw a stray cat or dog they went home with her and became her newest pet.
Beverly is survived by her son Braydon Dodson and wife Kerri, grandchildren, Kinley, Harper and Tyler Dodson, all of Enid, and a sister Vicki Sparkes and husband Galen, and nephews Justin and Brandon Sparkes and their families all of Edmond. She was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Brittnee, and granddaughter Callie.
Memorials may be made through Anderson-Burris to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.
