Beverly Ann Wedel

February 18, 1945 - September 4, 2021

Graveside services for Beverly Wedel, 76, of Enid, will be at 2:00 PM Thursday, September 9, 2021, at Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. Gary Miller officiating. Visitation with the family will be Thursday morning at 9:00 AM until 12:00 PM at Anderson-Burris Funeral Home.

Beverly was born in Drumright, Oklahoma, to Floyd and Lola (Rider) Anderson on February 18, 1945, and passed away surrounded by her family on Saturday, September 4, 2021, at her home in Enid.

Beverly married Doyle Wedel in Ripley, Oklahoma, on September 7, 1960. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Beverly built a legacy of generosity and kindness during her lifetime.
Beverly is survived by her devoted husband Doyle, her children Steven Eugene Wedel of Midwest City, Lisa Ann Morris of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Rachel Dawn Ashlock of Oklahoma City, plus six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and two sisters, Norma Townsend and Carol McCollum.

She was preceded in death by her parents and eight brothers and sisters.

Beverly’s children and their children will be forever grateful for her love and dedication. She always found time to be a homeroom mother providing holiday snacks at school, a Blue Bird leader, reader of stories, ally in family game nights, confidant, and adviser. She often told her children they would understand something they didn’t like or understand at a young age when they were older. They have learned that, as usual, Beverly was right.
Her house was never cluttered, never dusty, and always had the welcoming atmosphere of home. Family knew that when they were visiting Beverly’s house, they were home, too.

Her family fondly remembers many great meals and desserts served in Beverly’s kitchen. Whether it was a Thanksgiving or Christmas feast or a simple Tuesday night dinner, the food was prepared with love and enjoyed by everyone.

Her passing is softened by the knowledge that she is no longer suffering, but she will always be missed.
