The graveside service for Betty Lou Newman, 76 year-old Enid resident is 2:00PM Friday, May 17, 2024 in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home.
Betty was born October 28, 1947 in Enid to Charles and Ruby (Hair) Bentley and died Monday, May 13, 2024 in Greenbrier Skilled Nursing. After High School she married Larry T. Newman on October 8, 1965 and the couple made their home in Enid. She began her career at Highland Park Nursing Home as a CNA. She later went to Beauty College and opened her Salon at Highland Park as well. She loved the residents at Highland Park and spent her entire career there helping them.
She enjoyed sewing , crochet, and gardening. She was an excellent cook and made wonderful bread, cookies, and pies.
She is survived by her two daughters, Stephanie Case and husband Virgil of Stillwater and Shelly Newman of Enid, and her son Jeremy Newman and wife Stephanie also of Enid. Six grandchildren; Ashlan, Caleb, Austin, Addison, Jade, and Morgan. Four great=grandchildren; Madden, Otto, Luka, and Zara. One brother Charles Bentley and one sister, Claudia Bentley. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Larry, one brother and one sister.
