For 31 ½ years she worked as Secretary for the United States Department of Agriculture/Natural Resources and Conservation Service as well as the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture/Garfield County. She wore many hats. She was a hardworking farmer’s wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, seamstress, cook, tractor driver, truck driver, mechanic’s helper, secretary and bookkeeper. Betty’s Café, as the grandchildren called Betty’s kitchen, was always open - she cooked for many harvest crews, hired hands and family. Her kitchen was open and she cooked for someone everyday. SHE LOVED TO COOK!!!
