September 1, 1933 - March 24, 2024
On March 24,2024 Beriece Arlene Castle (Creecy) passed away peacefully into the arms of Jesus. Although we mourn her loss, we are relieved that the chains of dementia no longer bind her.
Beriece was born to Edward and Vina Creecy on September 1, 1933 in Covington, OK. She attended grades K-12 in Covington and was active in Rainbow Girls and 4H. She attended Phillips University in Enid, where she met Richard Castle. The couple was married on September 20, 1953 in Covington and lived in Twenty Nine Palms, CA,while Rich served in the United States Marine Corps. The couple returned to Enid where Rich finished his degree in Education, which then led the couple to Deer Creek, OK; Del Norte, Meeker and Colorado Springs, CO.
In Colorado Springs, Beriece had a 20 year career as a bookkeeper with the International Typographical Union. In retirement, Beriece and Rich spent 20 years splitting time between Brawley, CA in their 5th wheel and their home in Enid, OK.
Beriece was an accomplished seamstress whose skills ranged from creating elaborate wedding dresses to 1970s Leisure Suits. She enjoyed quilting, bowling, reading, and watching game shows (especially Jeopardy). So they could enjoy retirement together, she even learned to play golf. We will miss her quick wit, one-line sayings and comebacks.
Beriece was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Lowell and sister Caroline Jane. She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Rich of Enid and her children Debbie (Randy) Miles of Corydon, IN, Donna (Baltazar) Padeway of Enid, Dick (Erika) Castle of Colorado Springs, CO, and Doug (Beckie) Castle of Sayre, PA. Also surviving are grandchildren: Jessica Miles-Hill, Ethan and Natalie Miles; Cory, MacKenzie and Kayeloni Moulton; Heather and Amanda Castle; Ian and Erin Castle; and great-grandchildren: Sophie and Rachel Hill; Bennett and Marshall Moulton.
We are grateful for the staff at Greenbrier Village and Accentra Hospice for providing care over the last two years.
