Monday will be packed full of activity for Enid Public Schools’ parents, teachers and students. Prairie View, Enid's newest school will also be unveiling their new mascot. EnidBuzz.com will have all of the details on Monday so be sure to check back.
STUDENT/PARENT OPEN HOUSE
Annual open house activities will be Monday according to the following schedule: middle school and high school sites from 6:30 to 8 p.m. and elementary schools from 5:30-7 p.m. Students and their families will be given the opportunity to meet their teachers, talk with their principals, put their supplies in their desks and tour their buildings. Parents can also sign-up to volunteer.
"It's a great a way to start the school year. Open house gives students an opportunity, to not only see their classrooms, but also to meet their teachers and visit with classmates," said Human Resources & Communications Director Amber Graham Fitzgerald. "On the first day of school, their supplies are in place and they're ready to learn when the bell rings."
Many schools will host booths from their respective PTA organizations, as well as other community organizations such as the Boy Scouts and Girls Scouts. At many school sites, visitors will be able to see projects completed and underway, thanks to the 2010 bond issue.
Please Note: Due to facility improvements, Monroe will host open house on another date early this semester. Teacher class lists will be posted at the school on Monday. For more information, please contact the school at 366-7500.
Waller Middle School open house has also been rescheduled for a later date. Students are asked to bring only pencil and paper to school on Wednesday.
COMMUNITY OPEN HOUSE FOR NEW SCHOOLS
Community open houses are scheduled for the following week at Garfield Elementary School and Prairie View Elementary School, Enid’s newest elementary schools. Members of the public are encouraged to tour the schools from 5:30-7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, August 28. Both schools will open this month and assist with additional classroom space needed for the district’s growing enrollment.
