ENID, OK. – Autry Technology Center’s Teen Tech Academy will open for enrollment on Monday, April 24 at 8 a.m.
Autry Tech Teen Tech Academy is an exciting week in June when students who have completed 6-8th grades can interactively learn about the outdoors, cooking, baking, robots, computers, construction, welding and more! Classes will take place from 8 a.m.-11:30 a.m., Monday through Friday, during June 5-9 or June 12-16 depending on the session.
Enrollment must be done online, and classes will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Payment is required upon completion of enrollment and is $60, which includes all supplies and a t-shirt.
Week one’s (June 5-9, 2023) include:
Autry Tech Italiano! – Chef Ryan Simpson: Made with flavorful ingredients and versatile techniques, Italian cuisine is a great starting point for aspiring chefs. Students will cook alongside Chef Ryan and dig into the key steps for classic Italian favorites including fresh baked focaccia, hand-stretched pizza, chocolate dipped cannoli and more!
Basic Electricity for Fun – Brian Terrell: Get ready to have fun with electricity! Students will begin with basic electrical principles and safely wiring electrical circuits. After learning the basics, students will wire and launch model rockets up to 600 feet in the air! Throughout this exciting week, they will build fun electrical projects they can keep!
Forensic Science – Lois McCullough: Who is the Vending Machine Caper? Join us as we dive into a scenario of break-ins and interrogations. We will spend this exciting week unravelling the mystery of the “Vending Machine Caper.” Learn how to perform fingerprinting, analyzing simulated blood patterns, testing fabric samples, how to plaster casts and so much more as we move through the week of investigating this crime scene!
Glam Camp – Shelia Bell: Explore your creativity in the beauty industry! Students will learn the importance of personal grooming, proper care of nails, hair, and skin. All the while delving into the fundamentals of basic make-up application, proper skin care routines, hair styling techniques and nail care. They will learn how to shampoo, blow-dry, curl, flat iron, and style hair. This hands-on class will provide students with some fundamental knowledge to put into practice and get “glammed” up with confidence!
Welding Basics – Ryland Stonehocker: Learn to fuse, cut, bend, and shape metal! This introduction to welding (also known as ARC) is taught by a technical pro. With a focus on safety and proper use of equipment, students will have a blast working on their own take-home project!

Build-A-Bot - Todd Anderson: Bring your design to life in the exciting world of robotics! Design, build and program your own LEGO robot to complete simple tasks, solve real-world challenges and compete in classroom competitions. We will also explore Computer-Aided Drafting and test your skills on the 3D printer. Don’t miss this week of hands-on fun!
Junior Responder Academy - Special Guest Instructors: Have you ever wanted to be a firefighter, police officer, or work on an ambulance growing up? This is your chance to try out all three! Throughout the week, students will get a chance to practice hands-on skills used by emergency responders across all three career fields. Students will get up close to the equipment and vehicles used by first responders and have an opportunity to put their new skills to work in an educational setting. Guest instructors from fire service, emergency medical responders, and law enforcement officers will help lead class each day.
