Autry Names May Students of the Month

ENID, Okla. – Autry Technology Center has named three students as the May Students of the Month. These students were selected based on their performance in and out of the classroom as students, role models and future professionals.
-
Jayden Chadwick is a first-year high school student in the Graphic Arts program at Autry Technology Center. He is also a senior at Enid High School and works part-time at Braum’s. Jayden was recently elected to serve as a SkillsUSA Northwest District officer and is planning to attend the Summer Leadership Institute this summer. He also competed in the extemporaneous speech contest at the district level and was a member of Autry’s First Robotics team.
-
“Jayden is an exemplary student who displays the qualities that will make him successful in both higher education and the world of work,” said Cheryl Cooksey, Graphic Arts instructor. “He served as our class foreman this semester, and it is not uncommon for him to stay late to make sure that everything is well cleaned, especially when night classes are scheduled in our computer lab. He gently nudges the other students to work hard as well without being bossy or getting discouraged when they don’t easily or readily cooperate. He truly leads with his heart and would never ask those he is leading to do something he would not do. Jayden is very trustworthy, a hard worker, and has strong morals and values.”

Carolina Williamson is a second-year adult student in the Radiography program at Autry Technology Center. She graduated from Pioneer High School in 2014 and received her associate’s degree in Applied Science from Northern Oklahoma College. During her time at Autry, Carolina has been an active member of HOSA and has participated in several community service projects and events. She is also a part-time student radiographer at St. Mary’s Hospital.
-
“Carolina is always in attendance, on time and engaged,” said Michelle Noble, Radiography/MRI instructor. “She has a good attitude and always participates in the classroom as well as at clinicals. The technologists at her clinical site comment that she is always willing to help. During class, she asks good questions and gives feedback.”
-
Sam Telinde is a second-year adult student in the Information Technology program at Autry Technology Center. He graduated from Enid High School in 2015. Sam also currently works at Autry as a Systems Administrator. He recently placed first in Network Admin Using Cisco and Computer Network Technology at the National BPA Conference in Dallas, Texas. While at the National BPA Conference, Sam also received industry certifications in Microsoft Technology Associate (MTA) Networking Fundamentals, Windows Operating System Fundamentals, and Security Fundamentals.
-
“Sam is very deserving of the BPA Student of the month,” said Barbara Leathers and Melissa Hula, Information Technology instructors. “He uses self-management very effectively and stays on-task with his coursework to meet his goals. Sam is eager to learn, very motivated and works hard on his assignments and labs. It is not unusual for Sam to be ahead of the lesson plan in his course work. He is a critical thinker and problem solver, which will be a feat skill to have in the IT industry.”
