Anita Mae Fitzpatrick, was taken by her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on October 17, 2021 at her house in Stillwater, OK. She was surrounded by loved ones when Jesus called her home. She remains surrounded by loved ones in Heaven including her beloved husband of almost 60 years, Jack Fitzpatrick.
Anita was born “Anita Mae Yarger” in Oklahoma City, OK on September 21, 1937 and grew up in Moore, Oklahoma, attending primary and secondary school in the Moore School System. Anita was known to family, friends and foe as “Skeeter” Yarger and was a force to be reckoned with on the basketball court. She was also a twirler in the Moore High School marching band.
After graduating from Moore High School, she went to work for Borg-Warner where she met the love of her life, Jack Fitzpatrick. They married on February 3, 1961. Jack and Anita welcomed a baby girl, Renee, in 1962 and a baby boy, Curtis, in 1964. After moving to several locations for Jack’s work, Jack and Anita made Enid Oklahoma their home for the next 55 years. After her children began school, Anita went to work for Headley Oil Company and then Oklahoma Natural Gas. Many of those she worked with and for became life-long friends. After Jack’s passing in September of 2020, Anita moved to Stillwater, Oklahoma to be close to her two children but never forgot her many friends in the Enid area treasuring each and every phone call, text message, card, and personal visit. As one who never met a stranger, she enjoyed meeting new people. Though her time in Stillwater was short, she wasted no time forming precious friendships, even during a pandemic, with her neighbors and the staff at Golden Oaks Village.
Anita was a compassionate but a fierce woman - holding fast to her faith in Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior, defending those she loved, and loving her family beyond measure. Her generous giving of her time and resources to her children and grandchildren are too numerous to mention. Momma/Grammy was always there to lend a hand when needed or to delight with surprises just because she wanted to see them smile.
Anita’s deep love for her family extended well beyond her children and grandchildren to her sibling, in-laws, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Joy knew no equal, when her first and only great grandchild was born. Theo Shae Fitzpatrick was perfect by every standard in her eyes. Highlights came when Theo would FaceTime with her or come for a visit.
Anita is survived by her daughter, Renee Smith (Woody), son, Curtis Fitzpatrick (Connie), grandson, Austin Fitzpatrick (Erin), granddaughter, Chelsea Patton (Skyler), great grandson, Theo Fitzpatrick, sister, Celinda Ferguson, brother-in-law, Lavaughn Fitzpatrick, sister-in-law, Carol Frieze (Ted), and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Anita looks forward to seeing you in Heaven one day!
Memorials may be made in Anita Fitzpatrick’s memory to Bethlehem Baptist Church with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodians of the funds.

A Celebration of Life service for Anita will be 10:00 am Friday, October 22, 2021 at the Ladusau-Evans Chapel with Rev. Tommy Donaldson officiating. Cremation and Service arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
