A Celebration of Life service for Alice McGee, age 53 years, of Enid, is 2:00 pm, Saturday, June 4, 2016 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints with Bishop Ryan Redd officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Friday, June 3, 2016. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
Alice was born November 18, 1962 in Fremont, Nebraska to Alfred E. Thal and Betty I. (Tracy) Thal, and passed away Saturday, May 28, 2016 in Enid. Alice’s father was in the United States Air Force, so the family moved around the country a lot. She attended elementary school on Hahn Air Force Base in Lautzenhausen, Germany, then when her father returned to Vance Air Force Base, she attended Enid Public Schools. Following high school, she married Douglas Wayne McGee and they had two sons, Geoffrey and Derrick. Alice enjoyed staying home raising her sons until the early nineties when she started working at W.B. Johnston Grain Company as a bookkeeper. She worked there for 25 years before leaving to go to work for Total Equipment in Edmond, Oklahoma, but still did contract work for Johnson Grain Company part time. Alice was very devoted to her job at W. B. Johnston Grain Company and some would say she was a “work-a-holic.” When she had time off she enjoyed going to dinner with family or friends, and just spending time with them.
Alice is preceded in death by her father, Alfred Thal; step-father, Clifford McGee; and many other beloved family members. She is survived by her mother, Betty McGee, of Enid; two sons, Geoffrey McGee and wife Mandie, of Enid; Derrick McGee and Shaina, of Enid; five grandchildren, Mark McGee, Rylie Koehn, Trinity McGee, Brynlee McGee, and Willow McGee; three brothers, Alfred Thal, Jr., and wife Susan, of Dayton, Ohio; Michael Thal and wife Wendy, of Lubbock, Texas; Forrest McGee and wife Tamara, of Mason, Ohio; step-sister Patricia Edwards, of Durango, Colorado; four nieces, and four nephews.
Memorials in Alice’s name may be made toward funeral expenses with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
