The funeral for Alberta Wilcox, age 101, of Alva, formerly of Kremlin, will be at 2:00 P.M. Friday, January 27, 2017, at the Anderson-Burris Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Ron Pingelton officiating. Burial will follow in the Kremlin Cemetery. Visitation with family will be Thursday evening 5:30 – 7:00 PM at Anderson-Burris Funeral Home.
Alberta was born to Herman and Eva (Wilcox) Reim on January 14, 1916, in Kremlin, and passed away Monday, January 23, 2017, in Alva.
Alberta attended Pleasant Plains and then graduated from Hillsdale High School. She later attended Enid Business College. On March 6, 1936, Alberta married Frederick Wilcox, and they made their home in Kremlin. She was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, Sunshine Club, and former President of the Women’s Auxiliary of the American Legion. Alberta loved playing bingo, family and baking bread and oatmeal chocolate chip cookies.
She is survived by sister Donna Reim of Alabama; two sisters-in-law, Carol Reim of Garber and Wanda Reim of Texas; brother-in-law Max See; daughter-in-law Dorothy Wilcox of California; two sons-in-law Marvin McNally of Lawton and Robert Koehn of Ringwood; twelve grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and five great great-grandchildren.
Alberta was preceded in death by three children, Eva McNally, Phillip Wilcox, and Lorene Koehn; granddaughter Cynthia Koehn White; three sisters, Katherine Welty, Mildred See, and Carrie Greenzweight; three brothers Robert, Donald, and Omer Reim; sister-in-law Dorothy Reim; and brother-in-law Bill Greenzweight.
