Celebration of Life Service for Alan Burpo, 74 of Enid, will be Tuesday, October 4, 2022 at 10:00 am at Enid First Nazarene Church with Pastor Bruce Johnson officiating. Military honors will be provided by United States Air Force. Cremation arrangements by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home and Crematory.
Alan was born on March 7, 1948 in Enid to JH and Jo Ann (Martin) Burpo and died on September 29, 2022 in Enid.
He grew up in Enid and graduated from Enid High School. Alan attended Phillips University before enlisting in the US Air Force. On April 17, 1988, he married Cheryl Morgan in Enid, where they made their home. Alan worked as a draftsman at Failings before becoming a postal carrier for the U.S. Postal Service. He retired from USPS after working 41 years. Alan was a member of Enid First Nazarene Church, where he served on the board for many years. He enjoyed carpentry and fixing anything that needed to be repaired. Alan raised German Shepherds.
He was preceded in death by his parents, JH and Jo Ann; niece, Andrea Summer; and his grandparents.
Alan is survived by his wife, Cheryl; children, Kandace (Brett) Weakly, Teri (Kyla) Creel-Moulton, Jason Burpo; grandchildren, Tyler and Shelby Young, Ciarra and Chris Hayes, and Austyn and Andrea Creel; two great grandchildren, Saige and Ryker; sister, Jolayne Urban; other relatives and friends.
