ENID, OK - Enid and Northwest Oklahoma have their own "real" Santa and Mrs. Claus of sorts. One local couple has been bringing the holiday spirit to hundreds of families and kids for over a decade. You may have enjoyed their presence at a recent event or business.

Robert and Pamela Sands have been creating memories for children for 10+ years. In 2003 they started their journey at the community building in Jet, OK. Originally Robert was a “bearded Santa”. Children and their families would come and sit with him to have a cookie and hot cocoa. In 2007 he began growing his own beard and goes every November for his Santafication.

In 2011, the Sands started Breakfast with Santa at Golden Corral. They decorate the entire facility with their own decorations and spend hours taking photos with children and families and reading Christmas lists. This year Mrs. Claus will read "The Night Before Christmas" to the children.

Santa and Mrs. Claus also visit multiple towns including Goltry, where they are brought in on a fire truck to visit families. They will spend their second year at Vance AFB where a plane taxis them to meet the families. The couple also visits multiple daycare facilities including Sandbox Early Learners, Applewood, Turn The Page, and many more.

Sands can also be found at multiple local companies as his alter ego including Mountain Man Fruit and Nut Co. and Lowe’s of Enid. He's also has been known to walk through Walmart taking pictures with the children shopping. Sands also donates many hours to his daughter, with Mug Shots Photography, sitting and listening to children while they get their photos taken.

The couple does not charge for their services, but accepts donations only. If you ask them they say they do it for the smiles, for the hugs and to bring the joy of Christmas to our community. The Sands also accept toy donations to hand out to needy families.
