ENID, OK - Enid has literally been starving for a bookstore after the loss of Hastings and the other bookstores in the mall. It's beginning to look like there could be a light on the horizon. Coral 'Kern' Simon and Becky Bridwell-Gaede are currently working hard to bring a new outlet for book lovers.

A New Chapter Bookstore and Cafe is coming to downtown Enid in 2018. The bookstore and coffee shop will soon be located in the old Gift Box (Larry Black Sporting Goods) location at 232 W. Randolph.
-
Progress is currently being made on the store situated at the corner of Randolph and Washington. The building was secured 3 months earlier and the store owners quickly removed walls to expand and open up the building.
-
According to online comments the store will have new books and used books and they will have a buy back offer for store credit. In addition to the books the store will have on hand, they will also be able to order books requested.
-
When asked, the owners said they are projecting a middle of January opening date and would be looking into a children's section and possible storytime.
-
Scott Gaede said they will definitely carry Black Rifle Coffee, a veteran owned coffee based out of Utah. They are also polling potential customers for other brands to serve. Decaf fans will even be able to find a cup of coffee.
-
The bookstore owners are looking for local authors that would like to collaborate. The store will help promote their work.
-
The coffee shop will not only be serving regular coffee but will include other drinks, frappes and iced coffee. They will also be serving refreshments.
-
You can follow their progress on their Facebook Page or Instagram account @anewchapterbookstoreandcafe. The store phone number is 580-297-5112.
