Grubbs Abram Smith succumbed to cancer on Friday morning, September 9, 2022 at the age of 85. He was born on February 18, 1937 to Abram and Marie Smith. He ran a cleaning business for many years. He was married to Elizabeth Smith and they had three children. Later, he was married to Lavone Smith, and he lived out his life with her in Enid, Oklahoma until her passing in 2021.
Grubbs is preceded in death by his wife Lavonne; parents, Abram and Marie Smith; grandson Chase; step-son Larry; sister-in-law Patsy Stephens; daughter-in-law Terri Smith; brother Clifford Smith, and two sisters, Rosalie and Betty. He is survived by three children; son Elver Smith, son Michael Smith and wife Sherri, daughter DeDe Jones and husband Louis; step-son Sterling Shepherd and wife Christi; step-daughter Tonya Gray and husband Stuart; sister Bonnie Smith; as well as fourteen grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
A Graveside Service will be held at Elmwood Cemetery, Woodward, Oklahoma, at 11:00 am, on Tuesday, September 13, 2022 under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
