The funeral service for Ethel Lorraine Lawson will be 2:00pm Tuesday, March 29, 2022 in the Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Alan Seibel officiating. Burial will follow in Enid Cemetery.
Ethel was born December 31, 1943 in Enid to George and Betty (Kelley) Lawson and passed away March 21, 2022 in Seminole, OK. She attended Enid schools and graduated with the class of 1961.
Following graduation, she went straight into the workforce and for over fifty years worked as a certified nurses’ aide at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center. She devoted her life to caring for others.
Very family oriented, Ethel enjoyed fishing with her brother, Ralph and loved attending her great nieces’ softball games and school activities. She was an avid reader and enjoyed collecting dolls. Even homeless animals were cared for as she loved taking them in and nurturing them.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Ralph Lawson and his wife, Lila and brother, Robert Lawson and his wife, Linda Pierce.
Ethel is survived by niece, Kellie Pitts (David) of Seminole; nephews, Chris Lawson and Cory Lawson (Yvonne Young), all of Enid; niece, Carrie Sloane (Sean) of OKC; niece, Tracie Lawson of Enid; nephew, Scott Lawson of Enid; niece, Miranda Lawson of Enid; numerous great nieces and nephews as well as great-great nieces and nephews whom she loved greatly. Ethel loved her family and they returned that love tenfold.
Memorial donations can be given through the funeral home to Shriners Hospital.
