ENID, OK - Today, City of Enid’s Mayor George Pankonin, U.S. Senator Jim Inhofe, and Colonel Scott Preston of the United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) signed a contract for the Kaw Lake Water Storage.
This milestone was made possible by a provision authored by Senator Jim Inhofe, senior member of the Senate Environment and Public Works (EPW) Committee, in the Water Resources Development Act of 2020 and is a significant milestone in the construction of the Kaw Lake Water Supply project for Enid.
Mayor Pankonin stated, “We greatly appreciate the assistance of Senator Inhofe and staff and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for their efforts in saving the City of Enid over $8 million dollars with the legislation and implementation!”
