December 10, 1944 - January 26, 2022
Jerry Lee Kingcade, age 77, of Casa Grande, AZ, passed away on Wednesday January 26, 2022, at home surrounded by his family. He was born on December 10, 1944. in Aline, Alfalfa County, Oklahoma to Arthur C. and Lula L. Parker Kingcade.
Growing up Jerry had learned all about responsibility and pride in a job well done, and he learned these lessons well. While still just a teenager he decided he wanted to work in the Oklahoma oil fields, an extremely tough, dangerous business in which he excelled.
Jerry graduated from Enid High School in 1962. After high school he attended Oklahoma State University. In 1966 Uncle Sam called for his service and he entered the Army serving in Company B, 1st Aviation Battalion, 1st Infantry Division and served in the Viet Nam War. Jerry was a Buck Sergeant when he was honorably discharged in 1968. He then returned to Oklahoma State University and obtained his Bachelor of Science Degree in 1972.
He married Pat Aitken and they had one daughter, Michelle. Later they divorced. On June 23, 1983. in Cleveland County, Oklahoma Jerry and Margaret-Mary “Maggie” Ambrose were married. Jerry & Maggie were a good partnership, they were both well experienced in the oil industry and together they joined with Bill and Rex Smitherman to form Vista Energy where they worked until retiring. Jerry was a Board-Certified Professional Engineer and was a life member of the D. A. V. Jerry lived many places, from Oklahoma to Louisiana and Arizona. With each new home he made lifelong friendships because he was always ready to listen or with quiet advice, he was a good friend. Jerry could talk with anyone about anything, he was always interested in the other persons’ interests and well-being, he simply liked and cared about people and would do what he could to help them anytime they needed it.
Jerry loved all living things and they loved him back. He raised horses, had cats and dogs, even a goat for a short time. Of the many dogs he welcomed into his family over the years there was one extra special pup named Dolly. She was a beautiful border collie who was Jerry’s constant companion and totally devoted to him. Now, there is another beautiful border collie named Bonnie who has been a loving companion to Jerry and Maggie since 2015. He enjoyed his cars, whether they ran or not. He enjoyed fixing them up as much as giving us all rides in them. Jerry was an easy-going, fun loving, hardworking, family man who had a strong faith in God and loved the U.S.A. Some of his best days were spent with his grandchildren on the lake or helping them ride the horses or just ruff-housing with them. We miss his quick wit and quiet counsel.
Jerry is survived by; his daughter, Michelle (Pat) Noble, Enid, OK, Sisters; Carolyn (Robert) Young, Ringwood, OK, Lue Ann (Dave) Root, Enid, OK; Grandchildren: Brittany (Cody) Sunday, Courtney Gable, both of Enid, OK, Braden (Breanna) Clark, Ada, OK. 8 Great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews, other relatives and so many good friends.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; Art & Lula Kingcade; wife, Maggie; brother, E. Steve Kingcade; nephew, Terry L. Young; and sister-in-law, Susie Murphy.
The funeral service will be held at Heritage Casa Grande Funeral Home on Monday, March 14, 2022, at 10:00 am. Burial will follow the funeral at Arizona Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery Marana.
