Bernice was born on May 10, 1939 at the family farm in Perkins, Oklahoma to Loal and Mary Thompson and passed away on February 1, 2022 in Ketchikan, Alaska. She grew up in Hydro and Perkins, graduating from Perkins High School in 1957. Bernice attended OSU, before marrying Bill in 1959. They lived briefly in Okmulgee, before making their home in Enid. She was a family child care provider for many teacher’s families. Bernice loved the children in her care.

Mom and Dad worked very hard to provide us a wonderful home and a Christian education at Oklahoma Bible Academy.

Bernice and Bill attended Enid Mennonite Brethren Church for many years. She loved attending the Mennonite Relief Sale and reconnecting with family and friends from Bethel Mennonite Church in Hydro.

Bernice is survived by her brother and his wife, Jimmy and Donna Thompson; daughters and their husbands, Lisa (Chris) Wilkens of Grove, Oklahoma, Angela (John) Grimmig of Springville, California, and Amanda (Scott) Anderson of Ketchikan, Alaska; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill and her parents.

Memorials may be made through Anderson-Burris to Oklahoma Bible Academy Scholarship Fund.
