A Celebration of Life for Braxton “Rick” Boggs, 84, will be 2:00 pm, Saturday, February 5, 2022 at New Hope United Methodist Church with Pastor Nathan Oney officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home. The family requests that masks be worn and practice social distancing.
Rick was born December 27, 1937 in Easley, South Carolina to Paul and Frances Boggs. He attended school in Greenville, SC, afterwards joining the United States Air Force, ending his career on the TAC IG team after 22 years. He earned a Bronze Star in Vietnam for Valor. After retirement he worked at Vance Air Force Base as a QAE in Civil Engineering. In 1998, he earned Employee of the Year and was awarded an exciting flight in a T-38.
He was a lifelong bowler and bowled a 300 game at the age of 75. He also played baseball and softball. While serving in England he worked as a referee, umpire and coach for little league. He served several terms as President of Garfield County Genealogical Society. He also served on the Enid Speech and Hearing Board.
Rick is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Dallas and Paul.
He is survived by wife, Dee; son, Murray and friend Jodi; daughters, Lisa and husband Tom, and Dana; granddaughter, Lauren and fiancé David; sister, Dorothy Blaylock; brother-in-law, Wayne Dickerson; sister-in-law, Jean Boggs.
Memorial donations may be made to New Hope United Methodist Church or the Enid SPCA.
