A Celebration of Life Service for Billy Freeman Luginbill age 95 of Enid will be 2:00 pm, Saturday, November 6, 2021 in Ladusau-Evans Chapel with Rev. Tim Dorsch officiating. Burial will follow in Karoma Cemetery under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
Billy was born August 4, 1926 to Fred and Estella Ackley Luginbill outside of Jet, Oklahoma on a farm. He passed away November 1, 2021 in Enid, Oklahoma. He attended school in Jet, Oklahoma until drafted into the service between his junior and senior year of high school; he chose to join the Marine Corps. He served as an MP during World War II. He returned to Jet in 1950 and he married Daisy Henigman and they had one son, Phillip Jay. Daisy passed away in November of 2003. In February of 2005 he married Maebelle Rutledge.
He loved to go fishing and travelling around the country and seeing sights and making plenty of memories along the way. He moved from Jet to work for Beech Aircraft in Wichita, Kansas in 1950 and then moved to Salina, Kansas 1969 for his remaining career as the foreman over the plastics/fiberglass department until December of 1989.
He is preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Daisy Luginbill; brother, Leonard Luginbill and Lennis Luginbill.
Billy is survived by his wife of 16 years, Maebelle; son, Phillip Luginbill and wife Elizabeth of Fairmont; stepdaughters, Cherie Ward and Debi Unruh and husband Rod both of Enid; grandchildren, Corey Luginbill and wife Kari of Hunter, Daniel Luginbill and wife Ashley of OKC, Maddison Luginbill of Hunter, Nathan Luginbill of Hunter and Raegan Luginbill of Hunter; sisters, May Myers of Nash and Fay Green of Eldorado, KS. In 2004-2005 his love expanded to more members which include Maebelle’s grandchildren and great grandchildren; and also Elizabeth’s daughter Erin, son, Brandon and great grandchildren, Bri, Madison and Audrey.
Memorial donations may be made to Hospice Circle of Love with Ladusau-Evans serving as custodian of the funds.
