The Funeral services celebrating and honoring the life of Donna Marie Messall will be held 10:00 A.M. Friday July 30, 2021, in the Brown-Cummings Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Brad Mendenhall (pending) officiating. Burial will follow in the Enid Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.
Donna was born January 4, 1929, to Ted and Eva (Murphy) Money in Enid, Oklahoma and passed from this life July 20, 2021, in Enid, Oklahoma.
She was raised and educated in Enid graduating from Enid High School with the class of 1947, she began working for the Enid Telephone Company. She married Frank P. Neal, Sr. on September 22, 1950, and after his death, married Jack Messall in April 1968. Donna was a 50+ year member of P.E.O., chapter DO, in Enid. She was a Master Gardener through the Garfield County OSU Extension and was a long-time member of the First Presbyterian Church of Enid.
She was outgoing and had a very energetic personality, always full of life. She was a gifted pianist, by ear, and loved to sing, she was a member of the First Presbyterian Church Choir. She greatly loved her family and will be remembered for her generous heart and love for her children, her grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren. She remembered everyone’s birthday with a card, gift, and, when possible, a big birthday party.
She is survived by her combined children from the two marriages Frank P. Neal, Jr. (Sue), John Messall (Rebecca), Christine Neal Hogue (Herb), Judy Hensley, Katie Jordan (Neal), Pat Fitzsimmons (Robert), Margaret Weiss (Nick), and Alan Neal; Twenty grandchildren; many (#) great grandchildren; and one sister, Nita Gay Chambers, of Hennessey.
She is preceded in death by her daughter, Nancy in 1951, first husband Frank Neal Sr., in 1962, and her second husband, Jack Messall, in 1988; one daughter, Ann Dominick and one great grandson, Nathan Fitzsimmons.
The Messall-Neal family deeply appreciates the loving care Donna received from Comfort Keepers, Elara Caring, and The Arbors Senior Living Center.
