Mary Ann Smith

May 13, 1948 - March 8, 2021

Mary Ann Smith was welcomed into the loving arms of Jesus, March 8, 2021. As she entered the kingdom of heaven she was reunited with her mom, dad and husband Tom as well as many others and beloved pets who passed before her. Mary Ann was born May 13, 1948 to Henry and Lorene Diel in Enid, Oklahoma. She attended and graduated from Garber High School in 1966. Following school, she faithfully worked at Liberty Federal for 51 years. During her time as a loan officer, Mary Ann gained loyal clients who became friends. She was dedicated to serving others and remained so until retiring in 2019.

Mary Ann found the love of her life when she met Tom Smith. The two married January 28, 1989. Mary Ann was a fun loving, sassy, sarcastic, onery, ball of fire. She loved her family with her whole heart. Mary Ann was an avid animal lover and throughout her life treated her dogs as if they were children. Mary Ann always put others before herself. She was one of the most giving, kindest, generous souls. Everyone who knew her was blessed to have her in their life. A quote dear to her heart reads, “The strongest women are those who love beyond all faults, cry behind closed doors, and fight battles that no one knows about.”

Mary Ann was preceded in death by both parents and her husband Tom.

Mary Ann is survived by daughter Stacy Barker and husband Jerry of Enid; Siblings, L.H. Diel of Breckenridge, and longtime friend Sandy Magee of Bixby, , Peggy Jensen and husband Pete of Claremore, Mark Diel and wife Judi of Fairmont, Shirley Blodgett and husband Mark of Enid, Sharon Long and Dan Buckley of Enid; three grandchildren, Chevelle Sisk of Ames, Shelby Sisk of Guthrie, and Dakota Bowser of Woodward; three great-grandchildren and multiple nieces and nephews.
