The Lord Called his beloved Myrtle Lorene Boyle home on September 23rd, 2020. Myrtle was born March 27th 1930 in Hunter Oklahoma to Earl & Zillah Kelly. Myrtle had one brother Royce Kelly, and three sisters Erlma Jane Kelly, Ruth Lucenith Kelly and Roberta Lea Leeper. Myrtle attended Valley Forge Country School. After moving to Enid, she attended Harrison Elementary, Emerson junior high, and graduated from Enid high. July 23rd 1948, she married Leroy Catterton and to that union a precious son Brent Lee Catterton was born. After Leroy was killed in an accident, Myrtle attended beauty college. While in Beauty college she met Leonard Boyle. They were married 2-16-1963. Myrtle operated her own beauty shop for over 20 years and then worked side by side with Leonard farming their land. Myrtle served Hunter Christian Church faithfully by preparing funeral dinners, cleaning, preparing communion and raising funds for the rebuilding of the church after it burned. Myrtle loved to cook, sew, play canasta, spoil her grandkids, and have coffee with her friends. She had a servant’s heart and was often found delivering pies and helping friends who were ill. Myrtle remained on the farm after Leonard’s death in 2010. In 2015 she moved to Enid and in 2016 she moved to Wichita, Kansas to be near her granddaughter Shellee. Myrtle spent the last 9 months of her life in Boerne Texas close to her son Brent.
Myrtle has 3 grandchildren Shellee Methe, Joshua Catterton, and Matthew Catterton, One great granddaughter Lauren Schwarz and two great - great grandchildren Hunter Schwarz and Ava Schwarz. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday October 1st, 2020 at the Hunter First Christian Church with pastor Brian Meyer officiating.
Burial will be at Wakita Cemetery under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home. Memorials may be made through the Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home to the Hunter Christian Church.
