Jon Franklin, author & journalist.  With two Pulitzers and five books to his credit, Jon Franklin is one of journalism's best-known experts on storytelling and explaining complex subjects. The author of Writing for Story is also founder and moderator of the internet email writing workshop, Writer. He has worked extensively in newspapers and magazines, and is currently holds the Philip Merrill Chair in Journalism at the University of Maryland’s Philip Merrill College of Journalism.
He graduated with high honors from the University of Maryland in 1970 and worked as a science and feature writer at the BALTIMORE SUN from 1970 to 1986. He was a professor at the University of Maryland College of Journalism from 1986 to 1989, professor and chairman of the Department of Journalism at Oregon State University from 1989 to 1991.
