Edward Arthur Bonine was born August 13, 1946, in Enid, OK to Richard Allen and Thelma Ethel Bonine and passed away August 5, 2020. Eddie graduated from Garber High School in 1964. He met the love of his life in the fall of 1964 at the county fair where he permanently scribed Sherell’s phone number in his FFA property box. Sherell and Eddie were married on May 29, 1967 in Fairview, OK. Ed enlisted in the US Army and was stationed in Fort Belvoir, VA. He was there a year before being joined by Sherell and moving to Mannheim, Germany where they welcomed their first son Scott. Once back in the states, three more sons followed.
-
Ed was a fixer of all things and a talented oilfield mechanic and fabricator. His work took him to the countries of Egypt, Kazakhstan, Papua New Guinea, and Columbia. He spent 30 years laboring from sun up to sundown to keep his family at Box 42 Carrier, OK. Once Ed had successfully moved the “boneheads” out of the house, he and Sherell skipped around Oklahoma spending short stints in Ponca City, Tecumseh, and Oklahoma City before settling in Tuttle for his twilight years.
-
Eddie is survived by his wife of 53 years, Sherell, and their four sons, Scott and wife Nancy of Gothenburg, NE & children Madeline (Chantz), Abigail, Olivia & Henry. Son Chad and wife Kelly of Hillsdale, OK & children Hayden (Marina), Lauren (Kolton) & Everett. Son Todd of Stillwater, OK & children Evyn, Avery & Ethan. Son Travis and wife Lois of Owasso, OK and children Brooklyn, Miles & Sam. Siblings, Tommie Joe and wife Nina, Janie Harris, and Judy Pattison and husband Kennie. Ed was preceded in death by his parents and eldest brother Richard Bonine.
-
God provided Ed with a transplanted lung in November 2014. This amazing gift of organ donation allowed Eddie a new lease on life. He was then able to enjoy 11 of his grandchildren’s high school/college graduations and three weddings. Eddie also enjoyed weekly family domino games with his sisters, Judy and Janie, and talking “Bonine Ancestry” with Tommie, his only surviving brother.
