Joe Weber, author, he served in the United States Marine Corps from 1970-1975. He holds an Airline Transport Pilot rating, and has over 10,500 hours of flight time in 43 different types of aircraft, ranging from aerobatic biplanes to four engine transports. He is a carrier-qualified fighter/attack trained pilot who graduated from advanced Naval jet pilot training in Kingsville, Texas, in 1972.

After his release from active duty, Mr. Weber flew commercially until 1989.As an author, in Defcon-One the vice president of the United States is female. In Honorable Enemies, Steve Wickham is teamed with a female FBI agent, and in Primary Target, I have a female captain of an aircraft carrier and a female F-16 fighter pilot. As a Naval Aviator, Rules of Engagement and Targets of Opportunity were my way of letting off steam about the politics of the Vietnam War. Millions of Mr. Weber’s books are in print, and they have appeared on the bestseller lists of The New York Times, Publishers Weekly, The Associated Press, and The Chicago Tribune. After his release from active duty, Mr. Weber flew commercially until 1989.
